On 11 August 2020, McAfee falsely stated that he was arrested in Norway through the COVID-19 pandemic immediately after refusing to interchange a lace thong using a simpler deal with mask. He afterwards tweeted an image of himself with a bruised eye, declaring it happened all through this arrest.
